MIKE BLISS AND KEY MOTORSPORTS POISED
TO CONTINUE MOMENTUM IN ATLANTA
September 1, 2010 (Mooresville, NC) Mike Bliss and the Key Motorsports team head to Atlanta this weekend ready for 300 miles of NASCAR Nationwide Series competition on the fast 1.5-mile superspeedway, determined to continue the consistency that has propelled the independent organization among the top-20 in owner
points. Posting nine consecutive top-20 finishes over the past two months, Bliss and company are expecting good things to happen in the Atlanta 300.
Key Motorsports crew chief Gary Showalter is excited to be going to Atlanta, “We have been looking forward to the Labor Day race at Atlanta for several weeks now. We have prepared a good car for Mike, it’s the same car we ran 12th in at Charlotte in May. He likes the track and has had some good runs there, the
whole crew is excited and it should be a good weekend.”
With ten races remaining on the 2010 Nationwide schedule, Key Motorsports is postured for a top-15 performance in the owners championship point standings, a major accomplishment for a single-car team without adequate funding. Unless a last minute arrangement is completed, the Key Motorsports Chevrolet will run
sponsorless in Saturday night’s event.
“The Key Motorsports team brings a good car to the race track every week,” said driver Mike Bliss. “Curtis Key put this team together from the ground up and has made tremendous headway without the support of a primary partner that many competitors in the Nationwide Series have the benefit of. The people on this
team are a hardworking group who are focused on their goals and have the ability to properly represent anyone out there.”

BLISS DELIVERS 15TH PLACE FINISH TO MOM FOR HER 75TH BIRTHDAY; KEY MOTORSPORTS BREAKS
INTO TOP-20 IN OWNER POINTS
Mooresville, NC (August 30, 2010) Mike Bliss and the Key Motorsports team presented team owner Curtis Key’s mother, Geneva Key, a 15th place finish in Sunday’s NAPA 200 NASCAR Nationwide Series event at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve for her 75th birthday, a celebration that included the Happy 75th Birthday Mom message on the No. 40 Chevrolet in honor of her special achievement.
Driver Bliss wasted no time in bringing the Key Motorsports Chevrolet up to speed, making moves at the start of the race that would result in a gain of 13 positions in the first 10 laps of the 77-lap contest. Beginning the grueling afternoon from 37th, the veteran with a niche for road course racing kept No. 40 in the
top-25 over the final 30 laps, entering the top-20 with ten laps remaining. Avoiding several close calls on the tight 2.71-mile course, Bliss marched from 19th to 15th in the closing laps.
“All in all the Key Motorsports Chevrolet ran good today,” said Bliss. “Gary (Showalter, crew chief) and the crew put in a good effort for this race, we all wanted to do well for Mom on her birthday. We had to overcome some problems during the race, everybody just kept digging and we were able to move up there at
the end. This is a good team and we just need to catch a break, we are bound to get one soon.”
With Sunday’s top-15 at Montreal, Bliss has nine consecutive top-20’s behind the wheel of the Key Motorsports No. 40. This accomplishment of an independent
organization competing against many teams who share technology and other resources with Sprint Cup operations is a testament to the driver, crew chief and the crew member’s
commitment to the Key Motorsports Nationwide program.
“It was a good weekend for the Key Motorsports team’” offered Showalter. “Our qualifying suffered but the car ran good in the race. Mike drove a good race and it was a good points day for us, we had a plan and other than having to make three extra pit stops we pretty much stayed with it. I want to thank Curtis
for working with us and providing everything we need to run competitively when we go to the track. I also want to thank Mom for everything she does for us and hope she is enjoying her birthday.”
Key Motorsports broke into the top-20 in NASCAR Nationwide Series owner points at Montreal, marking the organizations first appearance inside the top-20 of the championship standings. Mike Bliss currently holds down 16th in driver points with ten races remaining on the 2010 schedule.
Key Motorsports with driver Mike Bliss return to Nationwide Series action on Saturday, September 4, 2010 for the Georgia 300 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
KEY MOTORSPORTS CELEBRATES MOMS BIRTHDAY
WITH SPECIAL SCHEME FOR MONTREAL
Mooresville, NC (August 25, 2010) The Key Motorsports Chevrolet driven by Mike Bliss carries a birthday message in this week’s NASCAR Nationwide Series event at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, Canada, with team owner Curtis Keys mother, Geneva Key, celebrating her 75th birthday on Sunday, August 29th, car
No. 40 is adorned with “Happy 75th Birthday Mom!” to honor this special occasion. Geneva Key is affectionately known as Mom to all members of the Key Motorsports organization.
“This is a special day for Mom as well as our extended family at Key Motorsports,” said Curtis Key. “We are happy to be celebrating Mom’s 75th birthday in Montreal on Sunday, for someone to be around three quarters of a century says a lot. Mom loves racing and goes to every race she is able to, she helps the
team when she can and is our #1 fan. Every member of our team wishes her a Happy Birthday and hopes she enjoys her special day.”
Key Motorsports crew chief Gary Showalter is confident the team has prepared a competitive car for Sunday’s race. “We are taking the car we ran at Road America and Watkins Glen, it has performed well in the road course races this year, Mike is good on road courses and we want to do well for Mom this weekend. We
hope she has a great birthday and a good finish in Montreal will certainly make it a little sweeter.”
Designed and constructed at the Key Motorsports facility in Mooresville, North Carolina for road course competition, the Chevrolet Impala being used at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve posted a top-15 result at Watkins Glen International earlier this month after starting the Zippo 200 from the 30th position with driver Mike
Bliss behind the wheel. Bliss has been instrumental in the progress of the independent organizations road course program and is comfortable with the car he will pilot Sunday afternoon.
“We are looking for results in Montreal,” said Bliss. “Gary and the crew have worked hard in the shop preparing this car, it ran well at Watkins Glen a few weeks ago and we are expecting good things from it this weekend. Curtis Key has provided the equipment we need each week, he and Gary and everyone involved
are all working together and that’s what it takes. I would like to join with the Key Motorsports team in wishing Mom a Happy 75th Birthday, we are thinking about her and hope she has a great day on Sunday.”
Jeffrey Earnhardt drove the Key Motorsports Chevrolet at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in the 2009 event, starting 25th and finishing 31st after experiencing transmission problems during the race. The fourth generation driver competed in two road course events last season with Key Motorsports, making his NASCAR Nationwide
Series debut at Watkins Glen International behind the wheel of No. 40 August 8, 2009.
