StopRepairBills.com Passion for Pink #40 has
great results in Memphis

(MOORESVILLE, NC) – October 26, 2009 – StopRepairBills.com changed its paint scheme for the Memphis race to support “Breast Cancer Awareness month.”… what no one was expecting was a front row starting position by the #40 team. Scott Wimmer driving the #40 StopRepairBills.com / Key Motorsports Chevy peeled off a blistering lap of 22.932 just missing the pole position by 0.070.

Wimmer who participated in the Kroger 250 Walk for the Cure earlier in the day had more to come as the #40 car was buttoned up for this event. Wimmer, starting from the outside of Row 1, gave pole sitter Justin Allgaier all he could handle from the drop of the green flag. Wimmer pushed Allgaier trying to get around him until lap 8 when the first caution of 12 flew for the day. Wimmer continued pushing Allgaier until lap 39 and the car started to fade… the #40 fell back to the 5th position. This didn’t deter the team, by Lap 80 the StopRepairBills #40 had fallen back to 20th position… not for long.

Scott and Crew Chief, Gary Showalter, led the team’s effort, gradually moving back up into the Top 10 on Lap 131… showing shear perseverance and patience in the car. The #40 ripped off the fastest laps on Lap 146 and 147 showing how determined the team was for the Memphis race. The team needing a great pit stop late in the race finally got a caution to get four fresh Goodyear Racing Eagles, Sunoco Race Fuel and a wedge adjustment. The team had a lightning quick pit stop and sent Wimmer on his way.

This would be all Scott Wimmer would need. Coming off the pit stop being placed in the 16th position and with only 23 laps left in the race Wimmer and the team were more determined than ever to finish well. With six laps left, Wimmer had the #40 StopRepairBills.com Chevy in the Top 10 again… with more to come. The final caution came for the dramatic, green, white checkered flag finish… Wimmer moved the #40 up to the 7th position in the remaining three laps, as he was on the verge of passing the #60 and #62 cars as the checkered flag was raised.

The team was very thankful for the 7th place finish and front row starting position. This is the best finish and best qualifying run in 2009 for the #40 StopRepairBills.com / Key Motorsports Chevy.

Next up for the #40 StopRepairBills.com car is Texas Motor Speedway on Nov. 7th…ESPN 2 race.
