BRANDON MILLER TO PRACTICE #40 WESTERMAN COMPANIES CHEVY
FOR KEY MOTORSPORTS TRUCK TEAM AT THE KENTUCKY SPEEDWAY

MOORESVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA (July 11, 2007) - 25-year-old Brandon Miller, a test driver for Richard Childress Racing, has been hired by Key Motorsports to practice the team’s #40 Westerman Companies Chevrolet Silverado at the Kentucky Speedway this weekend in preparation for the running of the Built Ford Tough 225 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event.

Miller, a San Diego, CA native who has competed in both the NASCAR Busch and Craftsman Series over the last few seasons, is scheduled to drive in all three of the scheduled NCTS practice sessions on Friday. Miller will help prepare the truck for veteran Chad Chaffin who is scheduled to race the truck in-between his NASCAR Nextel Cup Series obligations to BAM Racing at the Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, IL.Brandon07.jpg (12369 bytes)

Miller, who drove for RCR in one NASCAR Busch Series race in 2004 and then 11 the following year, has five NCTS races under his belt. He ran once for Ultra Motorsports in 2004 and finished 20th in Las Vegas. He saw action in four truck series races the year before to earn the berth in the #2 Ultra Ford, posting an eighth place finish for Kevin Harvick at Mesa Marin Speedway in Bakersfield, CA and then running his family-owned truck at three races later in the season. Miller finished 26th at the California Speedway, 14th in Las Vegas and 19th in Phoenix.

Miller has 13 career Busch Series starts under his belt, 12 of which were with RCR. In 2004, he qualified 17th and finished 16th at the Kansas Speedway in his RCR debut. He followed that up with 11 starts the following season with a season-best sixth place finish at the Gateway International Raceway outside of St. Louis. He also scored a 10th place finish at Pikes Peak and was 16th in Kentucky

This marks the second consecutive NCTS event in which Key Motorsports has been forced to retain practice drivers.

At Memphis two weeks ago, Chaffin signed with BAM Racing to compete in a limited number of Nextel Cup Series races that prevented him from competing for Key Motorsports after the latter announced that Chaffin was returning to the team to drive in selected events. Brad Keselowski was then retained to practice the #40 Curtis Key Plumbing Chevrolet and to stand by to race the truck if Chaffin experienced any travel problems getting to Memphis from Loudon, NH.

A day after Keselowski agreed to practice the Key Motorsports machine, Germain Racing called and signed the Michigan driver to drive its #9 Team ASE Toyota in the Memphis show when NASCAR suspended veteran driver Ted Musgrave for a race following his actions in the race in Milwaukee the week before. Stacy Compton ended up filling in and doing all of the driving for Key Motorsports in Memphis and finished 24th.

“Brandon came highly recommended to us by RCR officials and we are very happy that he agreed to help us out this weekend,” said team owner Curtis W. Key, Sr. “This is pretty much the same situation that we had in Memphis with Brandon to practice our truck and then stand by to drive it if everything works out during practice and Chad has difficulty getting to Kentucky.

“He (Brandon) will have a new truck and motor to run with and we’re hoping that he can get the job done for us and to either get the truck ready for Chad to qualify and race on Saturday or for himself to drive,” added Key
